Hello Everyone!
This week in Math we had our Chapter Seven test on Graph Data. As well we began Chapter 8: Data
and Statistics. In Language Arts this week practiced
evaluating text, and learned about compound words, word families, and common,
proper and possessive nouns. In Social Studies
we are continuing our discussion on what it means to have been an enslaved
African person in the Civil War era United States . In Science we reviewed our latest chapter on
plants and wrote the Chapter 2 test. On
Monday next week, we will be reviewing and catching up on any unfinished work,
as well as finalizing our Plants Science
Project. On Tuesday we will have a
small Christmas celebration and gift exchange.
The gift exchange will have a limit of NT$300. Please make sure the present is wrapped and
addressed to the individual your child is buying for.
I wish you all a safe and happy winter break!
If you would like to preview anything with your son or
daughter for the week following the holiday, we will be doing the following:

- Lesson
8.4: Problem Solving Strategy: Make
a Table
- Lesson 8.5: Draw Conclusions and make Predictions

Ways you can help
your child this weekend:
- Check in and make sure your child is on track to have their science project finished on Monday.
- Encourage your son or daughter to read twenty minutes a day in English.
A friendly reminder to everyone that class starts at H.I.S.
at 8:20 AM. Students should arrive
before 8:20 AM so they have time to unpack their bags and be ready to learn at
8:20 AM.
Have a great weekend, and Happy Holidays!
