Hello Everyone!
This week in Math we have finished Chapter 14: Multiplication
and Division of Decimals, and we wrote the chapter test today. This week in
Language Arts we read our new selection Elena,
and we looked at the new vocabulary, story structure, and summarizing what we
read. We also learned about when to change i to y, and practiced our dictionary skills. In Science we did lessons two in Chapter 9: Weather and Climate, and we checked in and
did some work on Science Fair. Students continued
working on a project this week for Science that connects into our word of the
month rethink and their last Science
chapter on responsible resource use. Students are developing a Photo Story to
inform their fellow students on how they can rethink their actions and
decisions in regards to their contribution to the waste stream. In Social Studies we practiced our chart and
graph skills by comparing graphs. If you
would like to preview anything with your son or daughter, we will be doing the
following next week:

Ways you can help
your child over the Weekend:
- Next
Wednesday is Science Fair. Please
ensure your son or daughter is on the right track
- Encourage your son or daughter to read twenty minutes a day in English.
A friendly reminder to everyone that class starts at H.I.S.
at 8:20 AM. Students should arrive
before 8:20 AM so they have time to unpack their bags and be ready to learn at
8:20 AM.
Have a great weekend,
Patrick Holt
