Happy Turkey Day Everyone!

Hello Everyone!

My goodness what a Thanksgiving feast! Thank you to everyone who participated in our Thanksgiving lunch yesterday.  Great times and good food was had by all!

This week in Math we finished Chapter Six: Measurement Concepts, and will have our chapter test on Monday.  In Language Arts we completed the Nature’s Fury Theme test, worked on writing our own Tall Tales, and completed some other theme wrap up activities.  In Social Studies we started a discussion on what it means to have been an enslaved African person in the Civil War era United States.  In Science we have completed our lesson on how plants move materials. If you would like to preview anything with your son or daughter, we will be doing the following next week:

Math:
  • Chapter 6 Units of Measure Test
  • Lesson 7.1:  Double Bar Graphs
  • Lesson 7.2:  Histograms
  • Lesson 7.3:  Line and Double Line Graphs
  • Lesson 7.4:  Choose an Appropriate Graph
Language Arts
  • New Theme:  Give it all You’ve Got!
  • Read your son/daughters’ draft of a tall tale.
  • Review Vocabulary and Spelling Words.
Social Studies
  • Extension:  Life as a Slave
Science
  • Chapter 2 Lesson 2:  How Do Plants Reproduce?
Ways you can help your child this weekend:

  • Help your Son or daughter review for the Chapter 6 Math Test
  • Review Vocabulary and Spelling lists.
  • Encourage your child to read at least twenty minutes a day in English.

Have a great weekend,

Patrick Holt
