Hello Everyone!
Winter is finally here!
I hope everyone has unpacked their heaters and sweaters!
A friendly reminder to everyone that class starts at H.I.S.
at 8:20 AM. Students should arrive
before 8:20 AM so they have time to unpack their bags and be ready to learn at
8:20 AM.
Next week is Literacy Week at H.I.S. In Grade Five we will be reading and discussing
a selection of fairy tales. The students
will choose a fairy tale and write a literary review. Students will also be designing a book cover
for their chosen fairy tale. The work
will be published online in an issu document.
Literacy Week will also include our annual Spelling B. Please click here to
see the rules and procedures and the Grade Five spelling list.
This week in Math we began Chapter Seven: Graph Data. In Language Arts we have begun a new theme
called Give it All You’ve Got. We started out by reading the first selection
called Michelle Kwan: Heart of a Champion. We have continued to work on writing our own
Tall Tales. In Social Studies we are
continuing our discussion on what it means to have been an enslaved African
person in the Civil War era United
States .
In Science we are working on our lesson on how plants reproduce. If you
